Senior Siamese Sweetie DORIE attractive for her furr-ever home in Northern Virginia!

DORIE is available for adoption through Friends of Homeless Animals, www.foha.org -- (703) 385-0224. A big warm hello to you all! My name is Dorie, and I'm a quiet, but very loving senior citizen. I'm a Seal Point Siamese cat with quite lovely coloring. Although many Siamese are known for being talkative, thus far the folks at FOHA would have to say I'm pretty quiet. It's also likely I've had a difficult life. They can certainly say that it's been quite a while since I've visited a vet prior to finding my way to FOHA's doors. I recently underwent dental surgery to have most of my teeth removed. My choppers were in pretty bad shape. In fact, the vet said that on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 being the best and 4 being the worst, my teeth were a 6! Eeks! So Im feeling much better now to have all those icky toofers gone. Plus I get plenty of yummy, tuna-flavored canned food from the staff and volunteers at FOHA rather than that dry old kibble all the time there are some advantages to age, Id have to say. As an older lass, Im looking to find a quiet, stable home. Sure, those youngins enjoy all the playmates and activity of communal living at the FOHA cattery, but we older ladies need more rest and peace. Would you consider taking me home with you where I can spend my golden years in peace, relaxing knowing that I'm getting the loving care I need. I prefer a nice sunny spot which shows off my beautiful grey tipped furr just beautifully and I'll be happy to gaze lovingly at you ...

Loveable SKITTLES attractive for her furr-ever home in Northern Virginia!

SKITTLES is available for adoption through Friends of Homeless Animals, www.foha.org -- (703) 385-0224. I'm SKITTLES, a colorful girl with a dilute tortie colors and quite a story to tell. You know that TV soap operas have dramatic names like "As the World Turns" and "Days of Our Lives." Well, my story would fit well in one of those daytime dramas. "As the Nine Lives Turn", perhaps? Anyway, let me tell you my tail - I mean tale. I was left in the driveway at Friends of Homeless Animals some time ago along with 3 other cats. One of the Friends volunteers later found a note about me - my mom had gone into a nursing home. After just a few months at Friends, I became quite ill -- I lost a grat deal weight, wouldn't eat, and my liver started to fail. I needed to have feeding tube put into me as the way I was fed. It was pretty touch and go there for a while. But I recovered, and off I went to a great foster home. Lucky me - my foster family realized quickly what a sweetheart I am, and they adopted me - I had a family again. Oh, but then came the economic downturn - my mom lost her job and my family lost its home. Oh, I was homeless once again. So here I am, back with my friends at Friends, looking for a forever home once more. Will 3 times be the charm? Please, don't tell me I'll spend all 9 lives looking for stability and love in this sea of drama.. I'm far too sweet for that. So, save me from the drama - I'm no Erica Kane. No, I'm Skittles, and I just want somebody to love ...
